Syntakt analog tracks issue

I had an issue a few days ago with all the analog tracks behaving strangely. Vid showing the issue -

ST had been on for a few hours at this point. Ran the calibration routine and everything passed with no issues however it didn’t resolve the problem. Also ran test mode and no errors.
Unit was then turned off for about a half hour and when turned back on all the analog tracks seemed to be working as normal.

At the start of the year I had a similar problem with one of the analog tracks but haven’t noticed it again until today.

Anyone else had any similar issues and how did you get it resolved?

Was advised by support to do a factory reset which I’ve done and haven’t had the issue since but there’s only a couple of months left on my warranty so if there is a problem that’s going to be recurring I’m thinking its best to send back to them to take a look at.

One troubleshooting item not to miss: make sure your power supply meets the right specs and is plugged in very well. My ST and others’ too have acted up in similar ways, analog machines only, with even a power plug imperceptible loose in the back.

Psu is the original elektron one and all plugged in fine. Thanks though!

Sounds cool at 0:55 reminds me of this track

Any midi going in to the Syntakt from anywhere?

Nope, unplugged everything to eliminate that as a possibility…

Had a very similar issue last october with the analog BD FM machine

Seems it’s recurring but so far only very occasionally…

As you’ve said you only have a short time left on warranty so I’d be inclined to ask for that to be checked out as it’s to do the analogue circuitry. Have never seen any behaviour like that on mine and I leave it switched on all day

Yeh I’m thinking that’s the best idea, although support have said they think it’s a firmware issue…

Hi,
Similar problem on my Syntakt.
Did you resolve your problem? Did you end up sending it in?

I guess I should start with a factory reset as well.

Hope to hear from you!

Hey, are you on the latest firmware? Was advised by elektron support that it was more likely to be a software issue than a hardware issue.
Haven’t had any problems since I updated the firmware.
I’d do that first, if it doesn’t resolve it do a factory reset and run the calibration.

Thanks for the reply!
I already ran version 1.30, but I still resent version 1.30 from the newest Transfer app.
I do not experience the problem now.

But the machine has been on for 10-15 minutes. I will leave it on for a while longer and check again.

If the problem comes back, I will try a factory reset and/or calibration!

To me it only happened directly with the power on.

How did you resolve the issue @Jeanne?

power-on, hit analog bassdrum a few times, if the problem is happening, power cycle. solved.

However, so far it happened only three times in ~ six months

I had this happen once on OS 1.30 a while ago. Thought it was an OB issue at first (because I was just running it through to OB for the first time on 1.30) but as Jeanne said, a power cycle solved the issue.

I’m pretty sure this is a bug introduced in 1.30 as this has never happened before to me.
