Syncing Octatrack MKI with the MakeNoise 0-Coast

dear forum//

so I’m currently trying to use my Octatrack as a master midi distributor.
I want it to send harmonic data AND clock to my prophet-8, which works perfectly fine (having a blast with the arpeggiator).
With that, I want to send clock data to the MakeNoise 0-coast, but only clock data.
The problem is that the 0-coast won’t stop using the harmonic data or note data as you will and keeps activating its arpeggiator.
When I plug the midi cable in the TEMPO input, the Octatracks outputs suddenly are silent and I can’t even hear the sequenced prophet.

My questions would be:

How can I optimize this setup so that I can work with the prophet-8 note and clock-wise with the Octatrack as a master while sending only clock data to the 0-coast?
I think this would be maybe only a matter of changing midi channels on the 0-coast but for some reason it would always play the arpeggiated phrases.
Is it possible to control the 0-coast independently from the prophet-8 but have both of them be synced to the clock?

Can you guys help me?

Don’t plug the MIDI cable directly into the TEMPO input; it’s not designed to interpret MIDI.

Page 13 of the 0-coast manual describes how to change MIDI channel (you’ll need to get it to “learn” on a channel you’re not using by sending it dummy notes) and disable the arpeggiator, among other features.

edit: sorry just read that you tried changing channel already. That’s strange… have you tried setting the 0-coast to learn MIDI channels while no other channels are being sent by the OT? It stays in learn mode until you exit the “menu”.

Connect the Octatrack MIDI Out to the Prophet '08 MIDI In.
Connect the Prophet '08 MIDI Thru to the 0-Coast MIDI In.

Set the Prophet '08 and 0-Coast MIDI channel numbers to different values. The 0-Coast defaults to receiving MIDI on all channels, so you will need to follow the somewhat awkward process described in its manual.

Set the OT’s MIDI sequencer tracks to the channel number that you have set for the Prophet '08.
