can anyone recommend a module that will help syncing the elektron samples and cycles to eurorack? I guess I will need a CV to midi converter of some kind, and the option of either start stopping the elektron sequencer and using that or just triggering the individual tracks/channels on the elektrons… it would be nice to be able to use the elektron sequencers to sequence CV too, but I know very little about midi/cv conversion or what’s available for that, I’m usually using either one or the other not both (midi/cv), thanks for your time! Main clock is a Pamela pro
I’m not super knowledgeable on modular but I know it’s usually cheaper and less complicated to go midi to CV than it is CV to midi. Befaco midi thing v2 (midi to cv) or Befaco CV thing (cv to midi) would be optimal if you want modules and not standalone units but there are probably less expensive / various ways to go about it.
Get a few opinions, but these are known to work quite well.
Thanks for the response, that’s annoying because I really want to use the Pamela as my main clock, I’ll take a look at those. Yeah that seems to be the case, would be nice to be able to go both ways though, because most of the fun for me these days is linking various pieces of hardware together in different ways
I’ve read that the disting mk4 can do both, and it is a single module, but I don’t know how well or to what degree since it’s a multifunction module. You could check that one out on youtube or something, just can’t confirm the extent of how well it works to use in both directions.
There are a variety of sequencers that can record and convert in both directions, but you’d be paying for waaaay more than what you’re using it for.
The disting mk4 looks like a no brainer for its functionally anyway; thanks for that, it’s probably a perfect start
Sure, no problem. You could try asking over there (in the topic I linked) but the thread hasn’t been active in a while, someone in there might have firsthand experience using it how you intend to though. It would be good to have some firsthand accounts before spending the money.
Did you have a look at the PRO expanders?
Well, that’s embarrassing! Thanks for pointing that out lmfao good call!
