Hello, ive been using the digitakt and digitone for a year and decided to get both mother 32 and subharmonicon but im not being able to sync everything especially the 4th piece of gear which is either the sub or mother. Any ideas? Im using overbridge in ableton as master clock, and i also saw that you can use the mother 32’ assign function to send signal to the sub but id rather not do that to use all the other features of the assign.
As the M32 does’t have a clock out on its patch pane, I think you might need to send clock using MIDI to the Subharmonicon and then use its “clock” output to the M32’s “tempo” input (I’m not sure, I only have a SubH/DFAM combo). If you want to send both clock and note info to them both, I think you’ll probably need a MIDI thru box.
Mmmm i tried the clock to the tempo but the mother was never synced., plus i always had to press run for it to start. If i want to press play in ableton and all the gear plays at the same time it means i need a midi thru box?
Looking at the M32’s manual, you need to put it in “Tempo Single Clock Advance mode” to get it to accept clock signals through that input. I don’t have a M32 so cant really help you more than that., but on the SubH, if the “Play” button is lit up, it will start playing as soon as it receives clock, perhaps there is something similar on the M32. Or you can go the other way, but as you say you’ll have to use the M32’s assignable output for clock only.
