Hi all, I’ve tried sending NOTE 68 & 69 and only the audio tracks are responding. Does the MIDI tracks allow active track switching ? Previous discussions on the forum says it does so just like to confirm.

thanks!

Did you use Auto Channel ?

Did you set midi tracks to channels different from audio tracks ? (default are 1-8, so make a test with channels 9-16 on midi tracks). I am not sure if it can disable the active track change with notes 68/69 though…

Ah I turned MIDI track Channel to all off with only auto channel on maybe that’s the issue ?

I was able to receive CC message on the auto channel in MIDI Mode . I’ll try when I get the chance thanks !

Do you mean audio tracks ?
Audio tracks channels are set in MIDI > CHANNELS, and midi tracks channels are set in SRC/NOTE setup page.

ah okay , so I’ve set audio channels to all “off” and MIDI tracks set to midi channel 1 to 8 . So we can first confirm that active MIDI track can in Fact be switched ?

EDIT:

What I meant to say above is, MIDI Track 1-8 's midi channel set too OFF, Auto Channel is set to 9.

The AUTO MIDI CHANNEL will take Midi CC send on the choosen CH value of AUTO CHANNEL and be applied on the MIDI Track you selected in MIDI Mode. Apart from that each Midi track acts on the Control Channels (Settings) given for each Track. And yes there is also a command that can switch to MIDI Tracks or better said it can “jump” one Track higher or lower.
On top of that comes what is set in Options of each MIDI Track in case you have turned one CC1…CC10 on and “learned” or set to take a specific CC to control it.

Be aware “Direct Connect” option in Project Settings changes behaviour how Midi is treated aka which Midi Spec table is applied.

Does it work now ?

Could you kindly let me know which MIDI message to change MIDI tracks and which settings should be applied to get it to work.

Currently Auto Channel set to 9. Track 1 to 8 set to OFF. Direct Connect is OFF

no, pls read above.

No one can seem to confirm if it is possible to change MIDI TRACKS up and down via cc message, because it is actually not written in the menu.

You need an active audio track (not Set to Off in midi channels, and with a midi channel different from midi tracks!) to receive Standard Note Mapping notes.
(And you can’t send midi from audio tracks, knobs, buttons, crossfader)
Doesn’t seem clearly specified in the manual.

HI finally got it working… many thanks for you and everyone’s input.

One question tho, I assume it is not possible to change audio channel’s midi channel?

It is possible. Why not ?

So let me get this straight , the Track 1-8 midi channel is for the audio Chanel correct ? And Auto Channel is for both Audio and MIDI tracks

In the MIDI > CHANNELS menu, yes. You can set them as you like, but audio tracks midi channels have to be different from midi tracks midi channels you set in midi tracks SRC/NOTE SETUP.
