Battery was a beast at the time because it could do everything people did on MPCs plus far more. It was especially good at drum layering. Now it is very dated and not really an option for me at least. I will say that Kontakt is still probably one of the best samplers in the game.
@alexwasashrimp There are tons of people selling their unwanted freebie Komplete Select serial numbers on KVR, or even giving them away in some cases.
I’ve more or less given up on NI (we don’t need to go into it, same reasons as everyone else) but I wanted Massive X for cheap and I think I bought a Komplete Select Electronic serial off someone there for $7.
It was not Komplete Select serial sent from Sweatwater but discount code which zeros out your purchase on NI site when you add it to cart.
I found mine in inbox SPAM folder.
FFS you get Tootsie Rolls?! It’s all I ever want in my Sweetwater box but I end up with a lump of coal and a handful of old rock hard root beer barrels.
Yes! It’s super laggy and annihilates the CPU when the GUI is visible on my M1 Max 16”. Shame as it looks pretty but feels quite unstable, also I have no idea how the GUI works
Softube Heartbeat on sale at Pluginaudio, ~35€.
Can’t try the demo again as probably already tested years and years ago and forgot it…
Anyone that use it or tried with any opinion?
Oh I remember quite liking this when I trialled it but not enough to buy it. I do feel like there’s a lack of decent software drum synths with “not too advanced” interfaces (like, macro controls rather than detailed control over envelopes etc) but still a reasonable range of sounds so I’m tempted. Will have to see if I can trial again or not, sounds like probably not based on your feedback!
It’s a great drum synth - possibly one of the chunkiest analog sounding drum synths. Be aware that it doesn’t have a sequencer built in, so you’ll need a 3rd party midi drum sequencer to trigger it. It can sound like a classic analog x0x box, but can also do very distorted creative stuff.
