Hmm I don’t need another soft synth, but Dune 3 is my all time favorite synth and I remember this always gets used as a benchmark as being streets ahead of all the other Oberheim emulations.

But it’s not on sale now right?

Yes there’s a discount code for existing customers of lush
My upgrade is 45 euro

Okey cool! I think that’s fair for a new version of a 10 year old synth but that’s just me

Sorry I explained myself badly.

Dune 3 is my all time favorite synth so I am excited about the prospect of Obsession given the quality of the work I know that they can do.

Ahh ok, got it!

Please post some reviews of the updated Lush101 somewhere. I bought the OG version ages ago but ditched it when I went all M1 Native. I’d love it if the update were worth it. I used to enjoy Lush a lot, but a lot of other options have come out since then.

Sure! I just spent 2 hours on the demo, here are some spontaneous reactions: I think it sounds great! It’s also really deep, so I felt intimidated at first. But then I just loaded a simple 1 layer patch and started tweaking, then it felt pretty intuitive. I think I’d mainly use it like that if I get it. Not sure I’d use more than one layer but who knows. I also like the FX and that you have sends for each track.

Here is a little noddle with 1 layer, the arp, some of the onboard FX, + an 808. Added some compression on the main

They refused to give me a refund for a synth I literally got one day of use from.

There is some kind of discount in my user area bit, but that makes the total cost more expensive than the new version on discount still.

I just wanted either my original purchase to be useable, or my money back. Not really bothered about the new synth so don’t value the extra festures/functionality etc.

Did you buy a synth 3 years ago from a small company, and expect it to be Apple Silicone native? :grimacing:

Here’s a place to discuss this that’s not the SW DEALS thread:

Just got it and it’s a strong recommendation from me.

If you want something simple that sounds amazing and doesn’t go hard on the CPU you probably can’t do better.

I expected it to run on an OS that had (at the time) been out for over a year. The Apple Native part happened later.

Failing that, I expected that they would give me a refund, but they refused.

Scaler 2 discounted until June 30

Its a little bit of a dumpster fire about 2.0 it seems. Alot of people were lead to believe if they bought the first version during black Friday, they would receive version 2.0 for free.

That was the big selling point.

Now they are saying you had to be on a special mailing list to get that, and you have to pay now.

I hope its just a misunderstanding.

EDIT: It was! I reached out and got the new version for free. And since I found out about it through this thread, I’m sure you are in the same boat, and probably will get it free if you bought it during BF2022.

Very cool developer to fix it so fast.

I just want to give a little feedback on Scaler: If you’ve wanted an app to assist in more interesting chord progressions it’s absolutely amazing. I’ve got a largely forgotten background in music theory and the included tools make it very easy to build some very interesting voicings & progressions very quickly. It also allows for mapping your midi controller to the chords and playing them into Scaler as the track plays and then capturing the midi performance for export. In this way I’m getting the feel I want for the chord progression as midi and then just copy/pasting it into new tracks to use with other instruments.

Overall it’s just been a very solid experience. The development also seems to be very strong and ongoing. There’s an active forum and a ton of useful content for learning on YouTube.

I’d needed something like this in my life and it’s done a great job for what I was looking for.

That part was confusing indeed. After I logged in I only got the discount instead of getting it for free even though I bought it during Black Friday… but since the price was just around 20€ and I purchased the old version for a significantly lower price I didn’t mind and see it as a sign of support for the developer. I wasted a lot more money on useless shit in the past.
