Stuff you regret selling?

Even though I’m happy with my current minimal setup, one thing I wish I didn’t sell until I missed it was the Deluge. Even though the synths were just meh, I didn’t realise how much I miss sequencing and programming drum patterns on it. The workflow was just great, and with the community, firmware is even better.

I used to own an EHX 2880 looper… that I hadn’t used that much for 4-5 years. So I decided to sell it. Instant regret, don’t ask why.
So I studied the market in search of an alternative but decided that the 2880 was the best for me.
One month after, my buyer put an ad and I contacted him: he liked it so much that he wanted more than 4 tracks… so I bought him back my 2880

The same happened again just a couple of weeks ago: I bought a (second) MF101 to a guy who contacted me few weeks later to buy my CP251. I told him “hey, I’m th enew MF101’s daddy!” He said “You know, it’s the only piece of gear I really miss…”
As I had bought it for some tests only, I made him happy proposing him to get it back for the same money.

Pretty little stories

Other than that, I have had several instruments that I was reluctant to sell because I was kind of afraid to miss them. When I decided to do so, I have never regretted them. This is a note for myself as I still have such instruments here…

It reminds me of this Masterpiece (in fact, the whole Album Spanish Train and Other Stories is a Masterpiece).

Sold a soprano OXK Martin ukulele a few years back. I loved that thing but got in that slim down mode and sold it like a dummy! They discontinued the model and rarely see them 2nd hand!

Patiently waiting for them to make another that doesn’t have life’s good stickers all over it!

A few other regrets regarding having sold low and buying back high! But that’s life, don’t lose sleep over it!

Machinedrum MK II. I sold it for $700 in 2018, right before the prices went insane. Honestly I don’t miss it that much (Digitakt and Digitone make just about every sound I could need), but it still stings a bit.

I only regret selling one thing.

Microwave XTk.

For me gear comes and goes, and I have nice things to play on now. So I don’t regret most things sold. That XTk though….

Nothing. Should’ve sold earlier.

I should also put the stuff I’m not using on sale, but that means unpacking, taking photos, checking if everything still works, fixing some issues like jumping pots on my BS2…

Yes, the Xpander is pretty special. Had one on extended loan for about a year way back.

Regret nothing. Regret is pointless. As Frank says. I did it my way.

OSCar because nothing sounds like it.
Juno-60 because it’s the best all sweet spot synth imo.
TX-816 because I sold it without getting a single sound out of it.
