I spent a few hours trying to make sounds a la Korg Delta. i got decent results with Saws + PWM + Noise + Detune + Chorus + Reverb + Filter 2, but i’d love to know if you have some tricks for these kind of poly sounds.
I don’t know if a real string machine type sound is possible with the A4.
String machines use Divide Down technology which is very different from the architecture of the A4. . You can probably simulate it reasonably well but you won’t get the complete cheese factor of a real string machine.
have you tried the presets sounds? is there anything similar to your needings?
if yes, then i would analyze those patches to realize how to get closer to the sound you’re searching for

I did check the presets briefly without finding what i was looking for. Maybe i missed them though.
As for the divider approach, i know it wouldn’t be doable, but it’s not the point. It was originally a cheap way to achieve polyphony but it has nothing to do with the sound and timbre of the synth, except maybe for the ‘in phase effect’ which i’d like to avoid.
