I bought a used A4 recently and I’m noticing some parameters being applied 100% when they are set to zero on sounds.
For example, I just initialized a sound (Track + Clear) and LFO 1 depth appears stuck at 100%. The depth is set to 0 (centered) and yet it affects whatever parameter is selected. No matter how many times I clear the sound or load a new sound, LFO 2 is always 100% on this sound. (this is on Track 1 BTW)
Earlier I had a similar problem where Oscillator 2 level was set to 0 yet was still producing sound at 100% volume. That time it was track 2. Loading a new sound didn’t help, there was always sound from Oscillator 2 no matter what.
I have updated to 1.06 and done a factory reset.
I am considering returning the unit to Guitar Center for a full refund because I do not want to be stuck with a faulty unit. Has anyone seen this before?
I have checked that nothing is sending MIDI CC to the unit and tried disconnecting everything except the output cables. Powering off and on seems to fix the problem, but obviously I’m not going to tolerate that as a work around.
this sounds like your performance macros are messing up the sounds.
perf macros are tied to kits, and as the sounds in the tarcks are also part of the kits, they are affected by the performance macros.
Hmm. That could be. I just cleared the kit and that fixed the problem on one pattern. I’ll have to reload the original kit later and check the macros, I could see that being the issue.
Bit o’ basketball left, then I will have a look. Thanks for the tip, void.
Hey Natrixgli, did you solve the issue? it’s happening to me as well, except i did not load from a kit and there are no performance macros. All LFOs speed and depth set to 0, PWM as well. Yet, there seems to be some movement still. Don’t think it’s a hardware issue. I’ve had the A4 for a few months now and this has never happened before. Something’s happening though, so i must be missing something…
