Storing old drum machine sounds to the Digitakt

I’ve just bought a Digitakt and I’d like to get transfer a load of sounds from my old Roland mc 909…
what’s the best way to go about it without sampling them straight into the 127 sample places?
Can I put them into the sound banks?
Many thanks…

Save all the sounds of the Roland in one big Digitakt recording and adjust the starting and end position to each individual sound.
Hold Function and Press the Three Dots (…) button to go into the Digitakt sound menu.
Export Sound and save it to a sound bank, I suggest Bank B (for no good reason).
Select an empty slot and press Yes, Name the new sound and press Yes again to save.
Move Start and End to the next Roland sound and repeat.

Ok fantastic, thanks. I’ll try that. After I’ve done that, can I delete the sample without deleting the sounds from the bank?

No, you have too keep the original sample. You can move it around though.
Plenty of room on the Digitakt, don’t worry about it.
Make a folder for things to keep and I would even suggest locking the sample so you can’t accidentally delete it.

You can delete the sample, but then the sounds would be silent (or kaput) as they only hold the “address” to the sample being used, which is stored on the +Drive.

If that is how you meant it.

Personally I’d sample the drums I’d want out of it onto my PC, trim & polish every sound, make a folder structure if needed (hihats/kicks/snares etc), that folder structure will be preserved when transferring to the Digitakt. Will use less space as well.

Yeah this would be my approach also…
