Stop samples when changing patterns

Hello!

I have this issue and I’m sure it can be solved in a simple way; I tried a lot of things but nothing worked.
I have this pattern (say A1) with one loop only, 36 bars of length. When I change pattern the loop keeps on playing.
How can I try to stop it when I change patterns?

Sample Loop is off

maybe place a 0 velocity trig on the next pattern to the track the sample is playing on?

All of the ARs tracks are monophonic (some tracks even choke on adjacent tracks trigs), so any trig should be sufficient to choke a playing sound…

Set the HOLD and REL accordingly. If you want the sample to playback for a set number of steps, set the HOLD to that number of steps with no REL.

Basically, if REL is set to INF, the sample will play all the way to the end - and if it loops, it’ll loop infinitely.

It’s in the manual but not explained clearly.

Thanks for the replies, but it doesn’t seem to work.

DEC in the Amp page is set to 0
REL in the filter page is set to 0

Pattern A1 is 32/32 and the sample is in the first trigger…

Try the HOLD on the amp Page. It’s set to infinite by default.

THAT worked! Thanks a lot. I didn’t understand that putting it on the extreme left was set to infinite (not very intuitive, isn’t it)?

Thank a lot guys, as you usual, you Rock!!!

Whatt? Are you saying the envelopes are scaled with the BPM?!

When Hold is set to Auto (INF) the trig note length becomes determinant for how long a note is played. I personally find this useful for playing the Rytm like a synth.

Yes, the auto hold is a very convenient feature, but I was referring to you saying that the hold amt equals sequencer steps held by the env? Which would mean that the envelope values are tied to the bpm&step-lenght values?

With that statement I was confusing the Rytm with the OT. The OT works that way. I’m not entirely sure how the HOLD numbers relate to how long a sample is held.
My bad for the confusion

Oh, I see… tempo-synced “quantization” of envelope rates would be a sweet option to have tho

not the most elegant way but you can also double tap the stop button and all looping samples/delay/reverb etc will stop

Thanks, but it will also stop everything, not just the sample. Not exactly what I was looking for…
By the way, the strange thing about it all is that you have to wait for the loop to end even even if you MUTE the track

Sorry please can you tell me where the REL and Hold setting are found on the analog mk2 thank you

On the AMP page.

Thank you and found it
