Hi-
I’m setting up for live stuff and trying to send things out of the left and right main output on the OT, but I am getting a tiny bit of bleedy bleed…
Are effects stereo? If they are is it only certain ones? If they are stereo is there a way to make them mono?
Note-
I’m using the cue outputs as the monitor mix and it’s completely different, so they aren’t available as an alternative. I just need one sound clean out of the left only and everything else out of the right only. Possible? How?
Thanks.
I’ve noticed this before when trying to use the CUE outputs as alternate outs. This was before the recent OS Update, but the only effect that seemed to bleed across the MAIN and CUE outs was the plate reverb. Now, I didn’t really experiment with every effect casue I was at first just confused, but after a bit it became evident that the plate from the tracks assigned the mains was also playing out the cues… I think.
I don’t really remember cause this was while recording, so from then on out, I forced myself to just use the mains and avoid trying to rout via the cue outputs. I’d be curious if anyone else knows more about this, or if it’s a potential bug… ?
Bumping once in the hopes of more replies…
Yes, some effects are stereo. Hard pan left will show up in the right, post some effects. If you have the tracks for a neighbor machine or the last effect slot open, the spatializer can be used to hard pan post effects.
Awesome, I’ll try this. Thanks. Do you think this is the likely source of the bleed?
So I removed all the effects and got clean panning with no bleed whatsoever. Thanks for the help on that one. A couple related things-
Is there a listing of which effects are stereo and which are mono anywhere? The manual didn’t seem to specify either way.
Sorry this one is noobish-
Can someone point me to a tutorial for the spatializer? I played around with it for a while but have no idea how to use it, and couldn’t get it to do what I wanted (mono pan to one side post stereo effects). Any assistance would be appreciated.
In case anyone else was following this thread-
Finally got the time to test the effects today. It would seem only the reverbs are stereo, and the rest of the effects are mono.
Since the OT’s reverbs are positioned on “Effect 2” only, making them mono would definitely involve a neighbor track with the spatializer. This is quite inconvenient, and a waste of tracks IMO. I haven’t had time to learn how to use the spatializer yet, but it’s on the list…
A "Stereo/Mono Option on the verbs sure would be nice.
I’m curious if the panning options in each reverb’s effects setup menu will make any difference. I noticed with the last OS update that they gave all reverbs a “BAL” control, and I believe the Plate now has a “MONO” control as well. Does this make any difference? I wonder… like I said earlier, I haven’t tried sending this way since before the OS update…
