Standalone Maschine+

Mine is out of warranty. I asked from the start for paid options. As I am aware nobody fixes it without warranty.

Well, just the maintenance for new controllers.

Yeah but imagine the Roland MV8800 being unusable because tethered to someone else’s account?

Hey… as a total surprise, on the beta testing platform, NI pushed a new (desktop version) alpha build with a much requested sequencer feature.

Apparently InMusic is still keeping the gas pedal pressed. Which gives me hope for Maschine & MPCs coexisting after the aquisition.

Now… if only my M+ standalone partition wasn’t randomly booting 1 out of 10, that would be lovely.

What is the new feature?

Perhaps they haven’t noticed yet that NI are still working on Maschine

(Btw since I see you here, do you still have the usbc power kit for the MPC 1000?)

I do, but honestly it has been sitting unused.

I got derailed by so much gear and so little time lately that I forgot how awesome it STILL is.

I did a rejig in my studio recently and focussed on having a ‘sampling station’… I still have an MPC Live 2 and an X, and looked at one of them for the trad sampler role… but they just can’t touch the Maschine Plus for me, it’s reaffirmed it totally.

Imagine if Akai JUST rebranded/reskinned Maschine as an Akai product??
I think that would be an amazing way to consolidate both communities… existing Maschine users would appreciate it being kept alive, existing Akai/MPC users would have a new system to explore (and be seen as still being an Akai user).

is this update/new feature also coming to the m+ standalone?

That’s awesome to hear.

Just a hint though. I mentioned the Maschine beta news on a forum before and some overzealous beta members reported me to the admins and I got a serious beta agreement NDA reminder. I was quite surprised because it’s not like it’s so hard to join the beta forum, and other companies, like Ableton, are quite public about upcoming beta releases, which is why I didn’t think it was a big deal :person_shrugging:

That’s why I didn’t say anything about the feature itself.

Ok all good. I only wanted to pass on a well-intentioned heads up, so you don’t end up like silly me
