Standalone Maschine+

Thank you! I use M+ almost entirely in standalone. I had an Ableton Live template that had the Maschine software with individual outs into separate tracks which was awesome. What I couldn’t deal with was the majority of my plugins not being compatible in Maschine, so I gave that up and went back to standalone, which is awesome :sunglasses:

Arturia plugins are my favourite thing about the M+ in controller mode - the Buchla is incredible when automated with the knobs!

You might want to check the Reverb store from NI depending on where you are. Cause they come with warranty and are below €600. Ans I believe you get a voucher as well.

I think there’s 4 or 5 Expansions it comes with, plus 2 vouchers for Expansions you can choose yourself, plus, at the moment, you can choose one of the free Expansion Bundles, which includes 3 Expansions from either Hip Hop and Lo-fi, R&B and Pop, Melodic Electronica and House & Techno. So about 9 or 10 Expansions in total, but for a ltd time in their Cyber Sale, so double check first if you read this post in a few days/weeks.

Includes a Brainworx Mix Essentials bundle of plugins for your computer too, so you can’t use them on M+

Actually, it’s a bundle of 3 to choose from 4 different options : pop, hiphop, electro, electronica and 2 vouchers which cover 2 others expansions cost.

Surely you guys heard of:

Will M+ be able to use it?

Cool!

Haven’t studied what he’s doing, but playing them live with no midi sync is more of an art than using CDJs. Shows he thinks the audio quality is there too for playing live in a CDJ world.

Looks like he’s customized his with silver pads, silver encoder knobs and silver overlay. He’s legit techno!

is it possible the two could be synced via ableton link over wifi?

yeah, should be possible. I find the link being more accurate then via midi cables, though I have just one Maschine and move

Ah, interesting. I’ve never used Ableton Link before, but they seem to seem to be locked together tight.

Whether there would be wifi there at what looks like an abandoned site though is anyone’s guess.

How are you utilizing 2 Maschine +? Is it also for live sets?

I would guess brining your own portable wifi router would do the trick…

Its actually very easy to sync em manually. Set same BPM to both, hit RESTART on the other, use the big jogwheel for offsetting BPM momentarily if you need to speed up/down, then set it back to the correct BPM when synced. Hardly rocket science… and since he is already using a DJ mixer, easy enough for him to audition the beatmatch before opening the channel

Ah, interesting to see someone doing it differently! I used to DJ with records then later on with Serato timecode vinyl for around 25 years as it was a lot easier than lugging records around. I appreciate pioneers though who push the boundaries.

Not rocket science, but if you use M+ standalone on your lap as I do, then it’s probably not something many people would look into unless they needed it to do more.

No, I just tested it for testing sake really. I had an og M+, but wanted a Vapor Grey too, so bought one. That’s the only reason I have 2 as 1 is more than capable on it’s own with effectively 128 pads/tracks/clips to play around with. I do generally construct elements on those clips/tracks/pads and trigger them live to make my music though, rather than use scenes and song mode. But not in a live setting with an audience.
