I agree, and I think yours and Jeanne’s sounds here capture the spirit of the ND well. Replicating sounds down to the smallest details is a whole other task. I’m not taking it on

Yea, and I spent no more than 15 mins on this one… I think that we can all agree that anyone calling ST lacking in sound has just never scratched the surface. I largely attribute this to youtubers reviewing machines and saying smth along the lines of “and here’s the hi hat sound”, laying a row of 16ths from the basic preset and then concluding that it needs sampling or whatever. I also want updates, but if that’s your sentiment, spend your money on a tr8s and I’d go as far as keep away from elektrons as a whole.

That said, this Nord pad thingy sounds AMAZING, but that’s largely velocity response and live playing, I loved it.

I think SY TOY is one of the most versatile machines in the ST, so probably lots of cool stuff

In the Science Lab series we are doing, contributors are encouraged to share sysex or project files in addition to audio. I always think it’s a good thing to analyse how other people work, and the SSL is en excellent opportunity to share techniques.
If you wish to analyze any of the posted demos here, I would ask the creator in question to share.

Similar idea but only using SY TONE. Has a different more synthetic tonal quality. Bit of control all shenanigans at the end so mind your volume knob

I sent my ST to Elektron last week and it came back yesterday with the mention « service disruption occured ». Bummer. Now I have to wait until Elektron gets back to me hopefully next week. I guess I won’t use my ST for a long period of time.

Do you have a direct cable connected from the Syntakt to your brain? It’s insane how you manage to get all these great sounds out of it, as if it costs “no effort” at all (I know you do put effort in it and you are very experienced, it just feels like you can do it much faster than anybody else).

You forget this guy used MD heavily for 17 years before he got ST… His 10,000 hours with an Elektron are well behind him by now
