Is there a master soundpool that you can select sounds from? I Was able to export the sounds from one project to another, but I couldn’t select which ones I wanted and had export them all. Seems like there must be a more efficient way. If there isn’t a master soundpool, then is it possible to select just the sounds that I want from different projects to form a new project?
How
Have a good read through Merlins octatrack guide.
A single topic would be good, no?
It’s called the Audio Pool, and there is one per Set. This is shared amongst the Projects. Refer to the manual and/or Merlins guide. There is always a more efficient way. Samples are shared in the Audio Pool, or unque to a Project.
Did you want to take the existing Sample Slots from one Project and transfer into a new Project?
Every time I create a new set and then create a new project. The soundpool is empty. Is this normal? In order to get sounds, I have to export them from a project in a different set. Is that really the only way?
check the DIR settings on the mixer page
Thanks!
Thanks for what?
I don’t understand the relationship with DIR.
With a new set, the audio pool is empty. You can use it if you want really different Ot uses.
Create a new project instead.
I reposted a different question. Thanks for the info on the soundpool. Just trying to figure out this thing…
Yes. Each Set is it’s own entity, as is it’s Audio Pool. Likewise, each Project is it’s own entity.
Samples are only available to a Project from two locations, the Audio Pool (Shared) and the Project (Unique to the Project)
Thank you.
I think I got it. I never needed much help with the other boxes. The OT has been quite a challenge. Yeah, I should just have used one post for this.
As Rusty said with Octatrack it’s better to talk about Audio Pool instead of Soundpool. I thought you were talking about A4 first.
You guys are tough : )
I stopped using multiple sets at one time so I do have a large audio pool that’s shared between projects and when I do create a new set I usually copy over most of what’s in my old set’s audio pool. This does make naming files super important though.
