Is there a limit on the number of flex machines operating at a given time?
I get no sound coming out from some tracks. I’ve checked the amp page and changed effects but it’s not solved things. Trying to change samples doesn’t help, trying to play in chromatics mode doesn’t do anything either. On some tracks I can preview the sample but no sound comes out once I’ve selected it and placed a trig. On some tracks I can’t even preview samples.
Is there something wrong with my OT or are the existing tracks covering up the sound in some way, I’ve tried muting them but it doesn’t seem to fix things either.
Yes of course, the limit of flex is 8.
Is there’s something wrong with my OT is a funny and common question.
Muting a track doesn’t help. Unmuting eventually.
Check other parameters there are many possibilities, or try a new project.
New project seems like the way to go. Shame really cause that’s two good projects now that I can’t get the full 8 flex machines working on.
It’s bizarre but I’m gonna keep looking into it. Is there a way to “reset” an individual track? I could try reloading the sample that way after all parameters are reverted back to normal
I’ll try this in the morning. Just thought about having a part saved and reverting back to it to fix this in the future too. Thanks, it helped thinking out loud like this
It’s almost always user error, trust me! It can happen regularly in the early days and it can be a number of things you’ve accidentally done.
Roll with it for now, it’s all a learning experience. I used to do all sorts by accident like set rate to zero so nothing played or slice samples and forget so was only playing bank silent portions, etc etc. All sorts of doughball mistakes!
Yeah I imagine so. I’m loving the possibilities this machine opens up to be honest.
It helps that I’ve never worked with samples before owning the OT. It’s instant gratification with endless creative possibilities and I haven’t even begun scratching the surface.
I’m taking it pretty slow but I want to have a few decent projects set up on the eight tracks before I start messing around with scenes etc. Once I have that under my belt I’ll start mixing my completed tracks off Ableton and mangling those loops… Exciting stuff!
Check that you haven’t soloed all tracks but the one youre having trouble with on the mixer page. Hit the mixer button then Func+trig while in mixer mode will un-solo (green) a track.
May not be relevant here, but I believe there’s a bug which also silences tracks when the memory allocation (record buffer) settings have been altered.
I think a workaround is to open the sample (Track + Edit) and then play it via Function + Yes. This appears to reset the track.
Oh thank you sooooo much ! I’ve been searching for hours why my first track wouldn’t play anymore (the stop icon remains on Track 1 though there are some trigs, filters are at extreme lowpass without any reason…) and this in all parts…
It was driving me crazy as I’m preparing an important live for thursday…
I was convinced it could (for once) only be a bug and not coming from me,
and as a matter a fact your trick appears to work
Very strange though !
Another issue that might be happening is that if you are editing a wav form and you set the loop point too close to the end (or start?) point, you’ll have a fraction or very little sound coming out… This is what I did.
