Sound design using single-cycle waveforms - tips?

I’ve been having a lot of fun making fat dub techno chords using the single cycle waveforms. I knew about the technique of using SCW before, but never really messed with it much because it was much faster to use sounds from my VSTs.

It’s a great technique that hones your sound design chops. While it’s fun to experiment, it would be cool to share any tips and tricks for making specific sounds and effects using the technique.

Any tips are appreciated! (Especially for basslines, sub-bass - I’ve tried simply LPFing and tuning down, but it doesn’t always sound right)

Yes! Just like that. :joy::pray:

Sorry for the duplicate thread. Mods, please feel free to merge or delete if need be.

Okay

Actually - I just read through that thread - and it goes mostly into a rather technical discussion about waveforms :face_with_monocle: - rather than many specific sound design tips. :grimacing:

Could this thread remain, and focus on actual, practical sound design tips? (as opposed to getting derailed into pure technical discussion):thinking:
