Sonicware CyDrums

I think I really appreciated the depth of the engine and got some extremely cool results when I spent the time but I just kept having trouble developing intuition about whether to go to the structure page or the wavetable page to get what I wanted from a sound and found that a lot of its cool features with the pressure/velocity mod sources were really targeted at active finger drum oriented performers which I’m not so much. I typically enjoyed its sounds a lot but I have a much easier time with a DN2 or Syntakt and ultimately opted to just keep using primarily Elektrons for drums to reduce how much I have to think about workflow differences.

Really the biggest issue I had with the SY machines since most of the per-voice features are really focused at drum sounds and it was a super cool sounding synth when I got it there but building a new sound felt like too much friction for me to be able to keep using it a lot, but some of the ways different menu structures worked ended up regularly confusing me and the UI design pattern never stuck in my brain for anything but the shared features with the 12XT.

Yo, I’m having so much fun with the CyDrums! Reminds me of the Machinedrum intuitively, and can really sound high end, all the while you’re lying on the couch bleeping on the little bastard. I love it, best purchase in a long time.

Question, is there a quick save feature hidden somewhere? Otherwise, in what order do you guys save to do it right?

dont think theres a quick save, but the order of saving properly goes like this:
save pattern, then save project.

its a bit confusing imo, but once you remember it things should be ok

Thanks mate. So no need to save kit then, it gets saved with the project? I keep saving all of them :joy:

kit saving is done separately to pattern and project saving, so id say its a good idea to save your kits as well

I erased factory patterns by mistake. Is there a way to have them back?

One love for cydrms, you look at the sonicware website ?

I would have thought a factory reset would do it, just make sure to back your stuff up first.
