it’s using the same hardware as the previous products - the Smpltrek and the Lofi XT. They don’t change the hardware with each product so that they don’t have to get it retested and approved everytime.
Sadly it doesn’t sample. I think you can route the incoming audio through effects, but not tried it. It’s a weird one. Like @LOHTANGCLAN said, they didn’t change the hardware from their samplers, so it’s a leftover from those.
Ouch! Must… resist…
I’m back looking at these again after seeing a few recent videos. Can you mix in external audio into the fx? If yes my lxr02 might pair well with this.
Sonicware posted this a few hours ago on their YouTube cannnhel. I wonder if it will effect the price in the EU in any way.
I was weak and subdued to GAS on this one
Watched Vaag’s latest jam and just clicked Buy
The price on Juno was a factor in this defeat against GAS
Any beginner’s tips from people who have been owning the CyDrums for a while?
I recommend sitting down with a good idea of what you’re trying to accomplish with this thing. It’s so limitless that I’ve found myself getting nothing done after an hour or more of sound design unless I have a plan. It’s pretty amazing after some experimentation. Have fun!
Thanks!
Hm, that’s not promising.
I have that with the M8, that I find fascinating, but can’t achieve much with.
Limitations really are a driver for me.
Definitely separate sound design from pattern creation - it’s so easy to get lost in all the possibilities!
Thank you! I will keep that in mind.
Sound design possibilities are indeed what attracted me into getting this machine.
No matter the instrument, I usually spend a lot of time sculpting sounds/patches, and then create very basic patterns.
Truly amazingly detailed video https://youtu.be/CTV0k5k7qlw?si=ntPfFVLxC3_HcDai
Well, damn. Knew it was coming, but damn.
To be fair, it’s the company themselves who will feel the greatest impact from a huge loss of business in a major market, but as consumers it’s also very discouraging. Feels like if I were ever to decide that I wanted to try this device, I simply never would at that price. In fact, I can’t imagine many are so tempted by plastic and silicone as to meet the new price head on.
Sonicware enjoyed a nice run at being an affordable brand with niche market products, let’s all hope for something which brings us back to the path of affordable synths.
