So I’ve finally listened to Plantasia several times this past week and there are several tracks that remind me of other stuff I know!
Maybe a kind of big post but I keep thinking about this as I listen, and I remembered the perfect spot to share these thoughts. Thanks, @shigginpit !
First might be a stretch with Baby’s Tears Blues reminding me of MJ’s Billie Jean, but I can’t not think of it every time it comes on.
Next feels like super obvious inspiration with Concerto for Philodendron & Pothos sounding very similar to Zelda’s Lullaby from the legendary video games.
And finally, You Don’t Have to Walk a Begonia really reminds me of the high score screen from NES Tetris.
I do really adore the Plantasia album and think it’s beautiful. I can hardly believe it took me this long to get around to it!
My brain is just so soaked from listening to mostly video game music all the time it’s almost all I hear in anything else.
