Some encoders feeling looser than others

Has anyone else noticed differences in the feeling of some encoders?

I’ve got a few Elektron devices but it’s only on my (second hand but very good condition) OT mk1 I’ve noticed that a few encoders (A, D and E) feel “looser” than the rest. Not a big deal at all, just noticeable and I was curious if anyone else had had the same and if there are any home remedies for it!

I’ve found they loosen up over time. Nothing to worry about really, unless they start skipping values (or similar), in which case you’ll need to replace them.

Yeah I figured it could just be a loosening over time thing, maybe those are the more commonly used encoders. Thanks!

I think the most used knobs start to get a little looser, 4 1/2 years of twistin and they’re still feeling solid though and work great. Some of mine are not perfectly straight up and down so they don’t twist exactly in place they sort of make there own circular motion on top as you twist, drove me nuts at first but I’m used to it. They can kinda wiggle side to side too if you push on them horizontally. They’ve always been like this though and they’re still the same and work perfectly so I’m over it…

I’m beginning to worry about my function button though. I think it’s the most used button, it still works perfectly but I can feel a difference in the pressure needed and the smoothness of it going up and down… I’m gonna order a backup…

Check if the knobs are put on correctly. Remove them and reseat them.

They’ve been that way for a couple years, makes me nervous to remove them, I don’t want to mess them up.

What’s the best way to do so? Just pull them up? Use something to get underneath and lift?

Just pull them straight up with your fingers. If you break something it’s on me.

Thanks a lot @Olle

noticed some of my digi knobs loosened a touch esp with me pushing down for faster filter sweeps used to worry me but they still work perfectly
