Hello guys,

Got an OT for one week now and so learning a lot.

Accoding to this topic "Solo" question from december 15
audio solos are separated from midi solos.

I sneak this limitation by keeping an empty audio track and an empty midi track and solo it if I want a true solo on 1 audio or midi.
Means I loose a track on each audio and midi.

Manual isn’t very explicit about this,

Do you guys know a way to perform true solo without using this trick ? Thus having 16 real tracks.

very BIG maybe: maybe through a midi loop? you might even have to process the midi. ie:
an audio track sends out midi on solo (i don’t which CC - or if it sends any at all), this you’d need to process/map to the midiCC that triggers the corresponding MIDI tracks solo (i don’t which CC - or if it receives any at all)… for all this you’d need the OT to receive its own MIDI (you will need to create a loop)
… all this is merely hypothetical as it comes with a bunch of issues on the midi hardware side (all your synths will need midi through, or you’d need a through box)… SOLO might not even listen to any midi…
probably some of the smarter OT cats on here know more and could chime in

I find myself muting in this scenario

its more a feature than a limitation anyway. manual states tracks are fully separate. and thats a good thing.
i mean if one MIDI track sequences one synth that then gets fed into the OT, muting the corresponding audio track with the through machine will mute the synth . midi will keep playing but you cant hear it… solo would function the same way… it’ll solo that one audio track and whilst all midi tracks are still playing, i can hear only one synth. …
always worked for me, but maybe you are intending a different workflow where it would be necessary to link an audio to a midi track

Actually the sound from the midi tracks doesn’t go to an audio track for me.

As a noob in OT ill use the combination of solo and mute peter for the moment, and program my patterns in a different way.

Can help :

While holding [FUNCTION] and pressing the [TRIG] keys, the mute changes will be held until [FUNCTION] is released.

A track that is currently muted but will be unmuted when [FUNCTION] is released is displayed as a “+” sign. A track that is currently not muted but will be muted when [FUNCTION] is released is displayed as an “X” sign

Thanks man, I’ve read that a couple of days ago … and forgot it straight away.
