I don’t think there’s a valid technical reason to prefer a digital recorder over a computer. However, if it helps your workflow and makes you more creative, then why not?

agree I just picked up a new Solid State Logic SSL Alpha 8+ expander/audio interface for my RME Babyface audio interface instead of another recorder so I can use it for multi track recording my drum machines to DAW. So far the SSL Alpha 8+ is fantastic for ADAT and rock solid. I am hoping my new SSL Big Six is great as well since I needed to replace my Mackie, Roland and Zoom L16 mixers that crapped out after few years. I use my TX-6 and Bluebox as recorders when jamming live.
