Software update: Overbridge for Digitone II & OS 1.10A for Digitone II/Digitakt II

I think there might be a bug on Overbridge for Digitone 2: I have to consistently lower pattern volume on Mixer tab for it not to clip. But same pattern volume outside of Overbridge is fine. Not fatal.

I think that it’s the first day of the official plugin release and the beta group was not very large. They went from 1.10 to 1.10A pretty quickly so I have no reason to believe that this is not a priority for them.

The best thing that people encountering bugs or strange behaviors can do is to detail them in the dedicated bug report threads or report them to elektron directly so that they can be addressed.

Even with the best of intentions it’s impossible to be omnipresent so relaying these issues to them is the best way to get them fixed and just consider that this is a lot of progress heading in the right direction.

Elektron deserves some credit simply for pushing through everything else to get this release out today. The list of bug fixes was not insignificant and that means, for them, fixing bugs is also a priority and there’s no reason to think otherwise.

I just want to congratulate them on their hard work and I think that having a little faith that these things will be handled will go a long way here.

I disabled the “pattern” thing for not knowing what it was and no problem here with clipping.

Isn’t 15 tracks an ableton limitation?

This is what I’ve read elsewhere.

One track is staff-only, where they send cores on their coffee break

Do you hear them via the standalone app ?

Without cupholders? Ridiculous.

Try setting performance mode lower. Im on 128 buffer with fast mode and it’s tight even for ext inputs. Zero clicks. Ryzen 7 7700 here.

Indeed,
For anyone wondering : ableton limitation, you can have different mappings in overbridge settings to get audio from the fx and input tracks

OK, it seems to have worked. I changed the driver performance mode to Relaxed, and now everything seems to be working properly. Thanks!

No. Only when playback in Ableton.

So it might be ableton that needs configuration ( is it set to 48k ?)
I think you just need to tweak settings … it’ll be unique to each machine I’d guess.

Press the Recorder (tape icon) in the OB window and check the gain is at 0. If it’s above 0 it can clip/distort.

Updated Digitakt II, everything went smoothly, had a jam at lunch. Appreciate all the bug fixes Elektron team, thanks for moving quickly on these.

Reading the bug fixes for 1.10, I’m glad I didn’t update my DT while in the middle of recording something. Good reminder to probably always wait a bit before you install the latest OS.

Is DT OG, DN OG and ST support completely isolated within the Overbridge app?

So can / should I update because of other parts of the application and its features, and future MacOS support?

Won’t like to break things if nothing is in there that’s fixed or added.

And save your current project + backup beforehand!!

How much latency do you all get with the DTII + Ableton?

(Post has been moved here)

Mines slightly off grid so have to quantise , which is confusing since simply recording midi notes via ableton piano roll which is bang on the grid , audio etc over usb so how can this be

Any suggestions or is this just how it is

I think that you’re referring to latency of the sequencer compared to the daw timeline when recording, which is syncing via midi clock, vs just triggering notes via midi which removes the layer of clock sync and midi realtime data going back and forth so would then be unimpacted by anything other than some really minimal hardware latency.

It’s probably to be expected to some degree.

As far as syncing tighter to grid, I don’t know, you’ll probably have to play around with your compensatory settings in the daw or quantize as you’re doing now.

Someone else might have more focused advice though.
