Yep. But it’s limited to Stand alone functionality. You can’t load in your VSTS and such so didn’t want to suggest it on macOS.
Although FlexiSampler is all you really need

Drambo is my main app for arranging tracks since i got it.
so i’m happy it delivers me from using conventional DAWs. yes, even Bitwig.
I wasn’t saying you had to use it that way. Drambo is also my main app, along with Ableton, Bitwig, and others.
For anyone who is interested in Microtonic, I’ve been playing with the demo again after a few years and I’ve realised that it can be configured to receive MIDI notes across 8 channels and also to respond to note off. This, in effect, turns it into an 8-track multi-timbral mono synth a bit like a Syntakt.
So that’s rather exciting and adds a ton of value. It can make some really filthy sounds! It can also route each track to separate audio outputs so you can add FX etc.
Have you tried BAM - Beat Maker & Music Maker?
It allows you to sketch ideas or compose full songs. You can see it in action here:

Amazing! What do you think about it?
I know I’m late, but i’d highly recommend this to anyone who’s interested. It’s made by an elektron engineer, so its sequencer is just as advance, and all of the individual synths sound amazing. It’s only 4 tracks, and each type of instrument is locked to one of those tracks, but you can have as many instances of opal as you want, so it’d really nice to have that inbetween of flexibility withought feeling overwhelmed. The synths also sound PHENOMONAL.

it’s very strange and doesn’t play nicely with others, but has one of the best mouse-and-keyboard interfaces for live performance in my opinion. having everything on screen at once makes it feel like staring at a eurorack system (good and bad).

I built a daw like groovebox system called Cubedrone or CD-24. It has 24 tracks for samples or vst3. It has pretty nice not complicated live system. And is bit limited because you cant make a mixdown, you gotta performance your stuff with interfaces rec function. Theres lot stuff in it but it’s pretty simple. You can download the (by now in beta) CD-24 from this site: www.digieuro.net. And yeah I really did not implement there any midi stuff so it just only basically turns your laptop to live-groovebox-station. Maybe add it, well I like it simple and fun like this but some people would ofcourse like midi functions. There is a built in automation system and 3 fx per track and 3 fx per master. So yeah. +1 to the reference to Korg Gadget, up above. I have had a lot of fun with it off and on.
There’s also Roland ZenBeats, which I keep saying I’m going to play with and don’t. One plus to ZenBeats is that it runs pretty much everywhere – macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS.
Gadget is a little easier to use than ZenBeats, though. I just found its UI a little simpler to navigate.
It’s called a template in your favorite VST host. I personally use Cantabille because it shows a visual representation of the connections between different VST’s. For example, someone was asking for a feature to run effects in parallel, and that’s super intuitive to do in Cantabile. Same for buses out to speakers, monitors, headphones, or a multitrack app. Transpositions, chording, arpeggios, whatever you want, you just bring it into your project and instantly get a visual graph of it
