Turn on your A4 and leave it on for an hour.
Put the OT next to it for a half hour . . . . hot coffee.
Knowledge dropped.
Yeah, bro . . . it’s just a workaround until they add the functionality to Overbridge 1.0.
Thank you everyone. I have had it for 3 days and I totally love it. And yes, it takes some wrapping your head around. I am still reading through the manual, and messing with it every chance I get. I put this together a today messing with samples in a live recording.
You’re obviously already becoming friends. Nice one!
the gear is mind bending for sure. the best piece of advice I got years ago was, if you want to know your gear think of a piece you love and reproduce it with the new gear. Try and be as accurate as possible, you get forced to go places.
without trying to sell you on yet another piece of elektron gear, I first got the OT, then went crazy put it aside and got the A4. a month later OT was as obvious as sunrise.
each has his or her path. don’t give it up it’s a beast waiting for you to unleash it.
I had my first 'fuck yeah’moment last night.
Wrote a bass and pad part on the A4, sampled the pad in tbe it, sliced and changed the pattern slightly, the prigrammed a kick and a chh on the A4, sampled on the OT and made a simple pattern on an OT track, never pressed stop, never doubted ehat I was doing, it was a simple thing, but something clicked.
before i forget: When you’re into deep house or anything rollin rollin rollin Much like this track from almighty Mr. Danny J Lewis:
… the OT is as well perfectly suited for this! Danny made it with Machine but the OT delivers one thing that is of even more help in such situations: It is the fact that you can fade between the Scenes back and forth while always exchanging them - anytime. It is just a “small” feature available because the OT has a crossfader. But in my opinion this is one of the biggest strength of this machine, as it allows for endless modulation capabilities and sound designs - and if you keep yourself organized with your scenes you dont even get lost in all of this. Its amazing
