So I traded my octatrack and one of my eit1 stands

For this:

nice ! a classic. congrats :+1:

Very nice. Looks in good condition, definitely a trade up.

It is in amazing shape and very recently serviced and had a few sliders and keys replaced. We were both happy with the deal and all items remained within a circle of friends so that always helps.

Nice! Give us some soundbytes!

IHDR, you know you’re going to have to rearrange that studio space again don’t you! With pic’s soon. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m jealous, but would not like to give up my octatrack for another piece of gear…

Working on that already. You forget how big these things are until you have one on your desk. Wow. Ill have some sound bytes for everybody by the weekend.

Y-Ne: I had thought the same thing until this deal popped up. The way I see it, I could buy a new OT tomorrow if I want. How often do near mint arp Odysseys present themselves? Who knows when I’d get another opportunity like this.

Side note: within 10 minutes of having is piece at home and running, my girlfriend said “yeah. That one is loud. You may need to take it to the practice space”. Haha. It sure has some bite to it that’s for sure.

wow that’s awesome, you don’t come across immaculate arps like that very often!

you can re order an octatrack whenever moneys are available though, good luck on getting another eit1 though, man i’ve been told for a couple months now that it will be sent next week oh well.

beautiful synth and i’m sure it is quite “loud” haha =)

I had 2 eit1s to start with. I had a spare one sitting in my closet that is now in use with the MDUW and a4.

Any new piece of hardware takes front and center on the desk then only to be replaced by the next, now the trick is moving it around your existing gear/workflow. And have you taken it to bed with you and your girlfriend says ‘it’s either me or the machine’ and you say ‘you can sleep on the couch’. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Any regrets now with the reissue shippng at less than an OT.?

Yeah I’d be devastated if I had a mint original oddy in my studio for two years and then a re-issue came out by another company with small keys…

The “mini keys” are incredibly sucky on the re-release by Korg. I am not a fan of mini keys period, but thought might make an exception with the Korg ARP or affectionately called “The KARP”. It’s not just a matter of the keys being mini keys, they are simply terrible to play riffs when you are a trained keyboardist with thick fingers. The sound is nice, but we decided to not buy and just added a second Moog Sub 37 instead and it was the better choice. Rather have an original ARP as the OP has here.
Let me add that the Korg MS-20 Mini seemed to be a perfect compromise and keys are definitely better on that one. Seemed a daft decision to place mini keys on the KARP…can only hope for a full sized kit as they did with the MS-20.

Neither am I…

Got to play an MKIII Odyssey at the amazing Paul’s Boutique in Toronto. It is in immaculate condition, and holy crap I want it. I don’t think ( but I need some more time to decide this) that the Korg reissues are even close. Such an amazing synth. Might have to take the chunk im saving up for the Prophet 06, and snag this one up.

The mini keys on the “Karp” are definitely worse than those on the MS-20mini.
