Whatever happened to Chris Isaak? I feel like he was so underrated. Wicked Game is pure f’ing magic. I’d probably sacrifice some random strangers to write a song that good. Don’t tell the PoPo.

Love Chris Isaak, really nice Wicked Game cover by Lydia Ainsworth.

Whats weird is how much him and Jim Carrey look alike these days.

I have a special place in my heart for Chris Isaak. I love his Voice and his (guitar) Sound.

Blue Hotel is one of my favorite. Trentemøller did a sublime Remix of that Song.

You can change that in settings. 16sec isnt a limit, its a setting.
Max recording length is about 8 minutes i think.
Its all in the manual.

One of the most underrated singers there is

I know i know he’s huge right? But if it wasn’t for Wicked Games nobody would know who he was

You know James Hatfield told Bob Rock he wanted to sing like Chris Isaak going into the sessions for the Black Album

I wonder how much of it was marketing. He sounds like goth Roy Orbison but at his peak of popularity all of his media imagery looks jeans commercial (Herb Ritts) and before that he had kind of a crosspover roots-rock thing going on. Like it or not people on average respond more to narrative and imagery than to actual music, so when the two don’t line up that can be enough to sink a major-label career.

Image-wise it seems like the labels were aiming at a sort of Huey Lewis or John Cougar Mellencamp crowd, but musically it had more in common with something like Peter Murphy.
