Snare rolls

Hi Forum,

Im a new member and new owner of an analog rytm. Im here to ask for tips on snare rolls, specifically is there a way to get a higher grid resolution than 16th notes. Any feedback on creating interesting snare rolls would be greatly appreciated.

Retrigger is your friend!

Note, the retrig doesn’t follow any swing settings

Retrig can be out off beat so easily, it’s not the solution.

I take a second track to program the snare rolls, or I program them live when I play. That’s mostly valid when using samples…

Retrig doesn’t follow swing settings, but you can shift a trig left or right with micro timing.

Enter a trig in grid recording mode, then press and hold the retrig button with the trig held down to bring up the retrig lock screen to turn on the retrig, set the length and time of the retrig, and it’s velocity curve.

Thanks for the responses

I take a second track to program the snare rolls

Could you elaborate on this i dont quite understand.

I’m guessing he means he uses a second snare track, adjusts the tempo in advanced function+page (scale) and turns up the multiplier?

so, is there some issue when you plock retrigger in Grid edit mode ?

Trig+Retrig

does this lead to bad timing ? is this discussed elsewhere ?
.
i guess we’re all waiting for the os to catch up w the manual wrt realtime record retrigs

This sounds like you’re using the ‘manual’ retrig… Just to make sure: Press a trig down and hit the up arrow button – then you can P-lock retrigs.

wow, even though it’s printed right underneath the buttons, i’d never used the Retrig+ & Retrig- buttons for that purpose until now, having done so, it’s handy once you have a retrig set up, but it’s a bit clunky to set a simple 1/16th that way

it’s Trig + Up,Up,Down (or 3 press variants of)

whereas it’s just

Trig+Retrig (just don’t hold on too long though, that needs tidying)

the way i learned it, good to now have the quick adjustment option in the bag though :+1:
