Smooth MIDI parameter locks

Is there a way force MIDI parameter locks to play “legato”? For example, if I real- time record a filter sweep, the trigs which did not get data recorded reset the parameter to the default value, which makes those trigs sound jumpy.

I would like the parameter lock “held” at its current value until the next change.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

That is one of the things ive been asking for since i bought my octa. Really strange not having “parameter slide” or some kind of smooth setting like they have on Korgs grooveboxes.
Theres also slidefunction on machinedrum that works like that. To use the lfo… Yes you can but it is really time consuming and not so smooth solution.

It has this, fn+bank, scroll to slide trigs, set trigs and any plocked values will slide between those trigs.

Yes, this ^ it’s in the manual. You can have a trig that’s locked slide to another trig that’s is or isn’t locked. The two will be “legato” is you will.

You can lock a low pass filer on Trig 1 as closed and lock Trig 16 to open and watch the filter slowly open over 16 steps - viola!

Good stuff. For details on getting to the slide page see the manual

Slides are great but not available on midi tracks - straight trigs and swings only on the midi trig edit screen.

I guess would generate a lot of midi traffic with CCs between steps.

Yes in the audiosection the octa has slide. Forgot to mention that i meant the midisection.

Just another one of those things that I still haven’t discovered on the OT!! Thanks this was really useful to know

Not sure about MD and MnM but as Clancy pointed out above, the slide only applies to Octatracks audio tracks, not MIDI.

Its highly likely to be similar though, on OT a trig with slide locked to it will slide to an unlocked trig and vice versa.

With some lfo plocks eventually…:sketchy:
