Want to start with a blank kit on a blank pattern? Press kit -> load and pick an empty one. It even auto-names the kit. This is much quicker than saving to a new slot, naming it and clearing it. Works on the A4 too
The reverb/delay is added BEFORE the amp/track level. So to get max volume on these fx, turn up the amp/track-level and adjust the volume of the sound with the synth/sample level. If you keep the synth level low and the amp level up, you can solve the quiet FX problem
[maybe too obvious] use a lowpass filter on the kicks with a tiny decay. Turn the cutoff down until you can still hear the bass. add a little env depth. This makes most kicks wonderful. It removes the buzzing from the osc and emphasises the bass. With the env depth up, it retains the transients resulting in perfect kicks for house/minimal/deep/etc
Thanks for these. Will try your LPF technique, so far I’ve only tried adding a resonant HPF with the freq dialed to the low end’s edge, and while that trick usually works, I did not get what I was looking for with it on the AR.
So far I’ve found that dialing in proper kicks and snares is challenging (only had my AR for 3 days so prolly my fault), so any tips in getting proper sounds with this thing are welcome.
There are quite a few filter settings that will result in beautiful kicks, but you have to experiment. I found a peak filter setting for the FM kick that took out the high end buzz and made it boom.
^ I was wondering about that…HPF shouldn’t kill the buzz but then again, I haven’t seen the resonance curve so depending on that I suppose it could cut some out.
Adjusting the Volume on the Synth-Page doesnt work for me cause changing the Synth-Volume really changes the character of the sound a lot.
i´d rather keep the AMP-Page Volume up and lower the overall track volume.
