Size/name of connectors inside Machinedrum

Hello, I have to replace the 6-pin connector/ribbon on the printboard of my beloved MD. Does anybody know the name/size of this connector, so I can order it somewhere on the interwebs?

If this question is about MKII MD, here is the answer

MD / MNM MKII connectors can be replaced with any connectors with a pitch of 2.54 mm and the appropriate number of pins. They are manufactured by Molex, Connfly, KLS, and many others.

The only thing to keep in mind is that you will need to purchase a complete set (socket and plug) because, although any set with a pitch of 2.54 mm will work, different sockets and plugs may not be compatible with each other in terms of design.

if you can get shipping from AliExpress, these sets will work for you - 10 satz kf2510 stecker kits 2,54mm abstand 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/gerader stift kopf gehäuse crimp gebogene nadel - AliExpress 502

If this is a question about MKI, let me answer you tomorrow when I get to the workshop.

It’s a MD MKII UW+ indeed. Thank you very much for your swift and thorough answer. I will order the connectors from Ali right away. For now, you are my hero!:+1:

Hello! My brother has helped me fixing the plug-problem in my MD MK2 (we put in new plugs and cables) Then it worked for a fine moment!!!
Then I suggested to put in a new battery (a CR 2032, like I had put in before, which worked before) After turning the MD on, the lit screen went dark. I now put in a CR 2450, which fits perfectly! But still after turning it on the lit screen is painted black. Do you have any ideas to try to help me fix the machine?
(I couldn’t find the MD MK2 Forum on this site, so that’s why I ask it to you personally)
With kind regards,
Bernard

Hi Bernard!

First of all, I recommend trying to boot into TEST MODE (hold down the FUNC button while turning on the MD). If you still don’t see any changes, I recommend checking the inter-board connections again.

If these steps don’t help and you have an oscilloscope, send me a private message, and I’ll try to advise you by the end of the week. It would be helpful if you could take clear photos of the circuit boards at the solder points (where you soldered the battery and connectors) so that I can verify during the diagnosis that no damage occurred during this work.
