Single powering options for multiple devices

I have a Mood MK II on the way and already own an Onward. But I only have one power plug socket left. What’s the easiest and cheapest, yet reliable way to power both of them from one device if they’re sitting right next to each other?

if you add one of these:

only one C7 Cable (for 3 PUs) is needed

Yeah, that thing was already posted above

I find that rather bulky, it takes up way too much space for my taste. Might make sense if you can stack a few of those, but my rig does not have enough space for this,

Hey, I’m sorry if this was already answered, but is there an universally agreed upon and bulletproof way to power both Syntakt and Digitakt 2 with one power supply (one cable to the socket) I don’t mind using a usb battery. Many, many thanks for anyone who points me to a relevant solution :)))

I found this on the myvolts app - do anyone has experience powering that way?
Also can I just use one of the stock Elektron PSUs that come with the DT2 for example, instead this MyVolts one?

This is what I would recommend, too: a simple daisy chain.

Just get a PSU that can deliver enough power for both devices, and get a daisy chain cable (mind the proper plugs) on Amazon (they’re between €3 and €10)

When calculating power requirements, remember devices take more power when starting up, which adds up if you have them on a switched power strip.

Most Elektron devices need

  • 12 VDC
  • Positive center
  • Barrel Connector Size: 5.5 mm outer diameter, 2.5 mm inner diameter

Thank you very much, however I’m completely illiterate in regards to vats, volts etc… what that PSU would be? How to calculate how much more electricity they might draw when switched on? Would a battery situation would be more straightforward? I would really appreciate if someone has done this and just tell me “get this, it works” again, I’m talking about DT2 and ST.

:heart_hands:

I saw some videos from a guitar PSU producers that exactly because the bigger initial draw, there should be “parallel” connection and not daisy chain…

What is sold as “daisy chain cables” is essentially parallel wiring (otherwise you’d cut the voltage in half). What they were referring to is probably isolated outputs, where one output does not interfere with the other outputs.

I encourage you to skim the first 100 or so posts in this thread, you’ll find recommendations for PSUs, a list of power consumption per device and a discussion of the wiring of daisy chain cables.

I’ll gladly answer any remaining questions.

Thanks, I did and I didn´t understand much besides that there is no agreed upon solution and some people are using usb c charger hubs and the talk about the Alchemist device. Also the discussion is pre- Digitakt 2, which has more power draw from the OG

I´d apprecieate your help in guiding me whether this PSU will work for Syntakt and Digitakt 2 and I will try it along with this daisy-chain cable.
