Spent all day awaking the garden from the winter… jet washing everything in fooking sight, scrubbed up ok! Back is fucked (again). Getting a garden pod/studio built behind my garage in a month or so, cos I’m a flash prick.

What I’ve garnered from this thread is:

1: People have made their homes lovely

2: People have made way better life decisions than me

Well ok, maybe there’s a chance if you have a pond that’s big enough to land an '30s floatplane.

I’d love a garden like this, but wouldn’t know where to start. Lovely.

We spend a lot of time out here in the summer. When we first bought the house we were not convinced by the glorified garden shed summerhouse, but it quickly became apparent just how much more use the garden got, as being on the Scottish coast, even sunny days here usually have fair bit of wind, or the temperature drops uncomfortably as soon as a single cloud blocks the sun. As such we decided to finally replace the old summerhouse with something bigger.

Patio needs partially redoing later in the year. We’ve taken out a couple of the borders to make way for ‘the bothy’ and reduce the amount of maintenance required. Unfortunately many of the bushes required annual pruning and produced a significant amount of material to be disposed of, even after composting what we could.
Looking forward to seeing the wildflowers come up under the plum tree. My partner makes the most amazing plum and cinnamon jam.

What kind of palm trees are those? In Scotland?

Understand.
This part is the wild space, "le coin aux fées "
The great part of the garden is for vegetables and flowers. I will post picts as soon as the thing is lauched.

Wait, what, this is Scotland? Looks a lot more tropical than a haunted castle! But for real, I like this!
