Should one wait NAMM before buying anything?

Hi,

Since Elektron is keeping things secret until each NAMM I don’t know if I have to wait before investing in an Analogue Heat.
I am thinking that they will release something like a DigiMixer or a DigiEffectbox.

What do you guys think ?

Buy now, don’t waste your life waiting for things that may never come

I am happy with my setup. Thinking about buying an effect box/audio enhancer and I don’t have an unlimited budgt, it’s ok to buy next year. I’m hoping someone heard some news about the box they are preparing.

no matter what they bring out, the heat will stay the heat.

I wouldn’t wait. You could make two albums in the time you spend waiting.

No harm in waiting unless you need something to get something done.

Dont wait just get it, for me the waiting time makes me obsessive about products until the moment I make the purchase so I rather get over that feeling.

And also I would not be guessing on Elektron product releases, someone correct me if im wrong but when the DT, DN and mk2 line were released no one had predicted what it would be or when it would be released so chances are we have no clue what is next or when its being announced.

I’ve got a slightly different problem. I’m not used to spending hardware type money (just cheap software) so I’m sort of waiting to see if I get influenced by discounts. The thing is, buying the wrong item cheaply is still buying the wrong item. The thing I want is the thing I want, regardless of the cost! I just have to figure out what it is I want!

I wouldn’t wait
If something is announced it’ll take a little while to be released
It might take a little while to be usable after release , digitone didn’t seem too bad but digitakt was a little challenging.
And I suspect overbridge will …

And I’d need to check , but prices might drop within months of initial release too. ( though there can be many reasons for this and it’s not always the case ) … entirely depends what it might be.

And finally , depending on what it might be perfectly usable devices might be superceded and become even cheaper.

This is key. If you want the AH and think it will be useful/beneficial to how you make music then get it

They released a shitload of Gear in the past 12 months and have some serious Homework now to do, so nope, No need to wait before buying something.

What I want is master FX/audio enhancer. Now there’s a lot of ways to go there.

In essence I totally agree with you.

Thanks guys for your answers. One need to be precise with what she wants.

The main goal is making music.

This is it. I just need to bite the bullet and buy my first Elektron box and get started! And also accept the learning curve and not be put off by the inevitable teething problems etc.

There’s not really a magic bullet unit to slap on the Master and have everything sound amazing.

Fx are mainly part of the writing / sound design process and generally per track / group.

Unless of course you are talking about mixing / mastering, in which case all that is better done in the box unless you have many thousands to spend.
