Nor any blame at all. Have fun, be a seven year old with your synths, no judgements, just openness. Sounds, any sounds, are nice, and sounds better than no sound. You know everything you need to know already, nothing to learn, it’s just play. It’s not a year old synth, it’s a new synth every day. Even just turning it on three times a day, turning some dials, and making some noise helps keep the dust off and the frustrations away. Relax, release the expectations and be there to let creation find you.
I face these issues too, as probably a lot of people what ever their creative dream, be it painting or writing, making stuff, or making music.
That is a good idea! There are very few analog poly sounds (and beyond) that can’t be created on the Rev2. Maybe spend more time designing sounds, and just noodling around on it for fun, as others have mentioned. I have 14 years of classical piano, and still struggle to create some of the musical structures I actually want to make. (Wish I had spent that time learning jazz and funk instead ) However, I just dabble and noodle at those, and eventually discover things that BECOME useful for my music. I don’t believe one needs a lot of training to make the music in one’s head. Just time to figure it out. Maybe watch some key tutorials to get a small foundation to work from. I REALLY like Matt Johnson’s videos on YouTube for one example.
The more you play around and explore, the more things will just come to you.
Look for chord charts like this and muck around playing one of them with one finger, or arpeggiating it.
It’ll give you an idea of what works, and instant satisfaction. Then start doing craaaaaazy shit, like shifting from a Major to a minor

Thanks to this thread, the Rev2 is now a contender for my Dream Synth list, from which I will pick a reward at some yet-to-be-determined level of keys-playing ability.
If you do grow tired of it, maybe consider one of the polys that has some euro patch points. Or maybe even the Pro2? With it’s super waveforms it is pretty dang capable of taking up space as a 4 voice plus it has some patch points to feed your euro needs.
