I have a Digitakt. I’m thinking of selling my DrumBrute.
What are your thoughts on that topic?
The drum has a pretty awesome sequencer in it actually. I probably thinking more in the lines of reducing the amount of equipment temporarily

I sold both my Drumbrute and a MD MkII, one before and one just after the Digitakt arrived. I haven’t missed either but my needs we’re way less than the MD offered and the Drumbrute never sounded right. So check your needs and part ways if need be… But first sample the hell out of the sounds you like on the Drumbrute.

After 20+ years of buying gear, my advice, unless you really don’t like it and/or regret having bought it in the first place, try to keep it. You buy something (usually) for a reason and not just on pure impulse. Nearly everything I’ve sold I regret doing so later on.

this “usually” in your sentence is the key. i’ve bought (and sold) gear for 15 years now and my decisions were always based on a mix of thoughts about practical use combined with a “not so small” portion of impulse 
im stoked by new gear that comes out and i always want to have it - but often simply cannot afford it. so for me - it was always a coming and going of gear. And the gear i still have MUST be the gear that always fits! things i did several years ago mustnt be the things i wanna do today. and so i would not regret selling something if i feel that it doesnt fit a new direction into which i wanna go. even if it delivered for years before this very decision.
to the OP: you should not think about that question. youve answered it already. you thought about selling the Brute in the first place. so you cannot be 100% satisfied with it. and therefore: just sell it worst decision, imho, is: keeping gear just because you are unsure if you might still need it. and then noticing you havent used it for years. sometimes selling stuff you have is the ONLY reason why you want it back. just forget about that, dont think about it
I’m going to sell mine. The DrumBrute is a good piece of kit, very hands on, and with an excellent sequencer. However I recently got an MFB Tanzmaus and although it has only about half the voices of the Brute, and two of those are sample based, it blows the Brute out of the water in terms of sound. I found that in order to get my Brute sounding decent, I had to run it through a mixer and my Heat. Whereas the Tanzmaus sounds very good straight out of the box. For me, the Tanzmaus is far smaller, has a lot of controls and when you sequencer it from the DT, you can completely avoid its own excuse for a sequencer (why is “start” a shift function MFB? Why?!).
So, my point actually is - if you have a better sounding drum source than the Brute, go for it, otherwise - keep it. The Digitakt can be used to sequence any drum box really well.
