There is a lot of poop here… but it’s what you just typed!

How disrespectful could you possibly be?

If you don’t like it, fine, if you’ve found other gear that suits you better, great! But don’t shit on someone else’s buzz - that’s really really low!!!
he asked for opinions, thats mine,

i made a point of mentioning a caveat in caps no less
and repeated it
do you have a reading impairment? :sob:

“disrespectful” and “low”, stick it up your ***
best you start a thread to hold hands and sing “kumbaya my octatrack”
:-1:

Elektron are not supporting the OT in any significant way.
I hope to f00k im wrong, but
they ignored Rustys fantastic efforts to develop a usable editor,
can barely keep up with support issues,
make lame ‘gone to trade show’ excuses
keep users completely in the dark
are behind with the overlord,
and
plenty of issues with the current releases to work on.

Some of you guy want to live in a fairy land cult where all is sweet and lovely and knocking any elektron product is blasphemy
The OP’s question was really about if it would be a poor choice to purchase an OT now if there was a chance that Elektron might release a new version of it soonish. Your response was to bring up the issues that you personally have with it, but that is not what the OP was asking.
I’ve got my fair share of criticisms of how Elektron have done things in 2014, but I’ve also got a fair amount of confidence that they are due to some growing pains as their profile has risen lately. I think (I hope) by June 2015 we may all have a much more positive view of the OT.
I think the OT has gotten a little less attention in the last year than it should have. I don’t think Elektron have been quite prepared to give Rusty the info he needs to finish his editor right yet, but I think they would like to and can see the need for it (based on Cenk’s recent Reddit AMA)-hopefully they can get to this before he loses all interest. There are both bug fixes and product developments that need attending to for the OT, but I don’t think Elektron are anywhere near done with it in its current state, certainly not to the point that they will be releasing a new version without having the current one as perfect as it can be based on the limits of the existing hardware.
Your gripes are noted and warranted, but not appropriate for the OPs question, thus inappropriate in this thread. There are a number of existing threads on this board already hosting such complaints, and they would be better suited there than in a thread asking if buying an OT now would be a bad choice if a new one was on the horizon.
