I’ve been messing around with sending program change and hold from the Mono to my KP3 using the LFOs, and did not realize that the midi LFOs are shared with their corresponding audio tracks. This is a bit limiting, but not a total dealbreaker. However, I’ve noticed that muting the audio track also stops the midi LFO. Is this a known bug, and is there a workaround?
The OT LFOs are not shared between internal and MIDI tracks.
I’d never heard of the muting issue on the MnM, though. Maybe it stems from the fact that the internal tracks are also sending MIDI? Maybe you have the LFO set to the internal track and not the MIDI track, but it’s still working against the KP3 because the internal tracks send MIDI, too, so it seems like you’re actually using the MIDI track when you aren’t.
Or it’s simply because the LFOs are shared, and so the LFO gets killed off by muting the internal track because of this
I tried replicating this using Nave, but turning off the corresponding audio channel did not change the midi lfo. So maybe it’s just some KP3 quirk. Stranger still is that turning off the midi channel doesn’t stop the midi lfo, only muting the audio channel.
That’s odd.
This whole MIDI routing thing confuses me in monomachine.
Really wish I would get my Nord and Snow integrated properly with it and start making trax.
Try setting the receiving channels on your other gear to something between 10-15. Those are the channels the Mono natively uses for external midi sequencing.
Yes,
Function + Global
Go to Slot 1 - press enter
Cursor down to Midi SEQ - left arrow across to Midiseq Set
Press Enter
There you have the Midi Seq Setting page where each track channel can be set and the Midi CC’s for CL 1 through to CL4 (these set the Midi CC values that CC1, CC2, CC3 & CC4 Knobs can control - these can then be P-locked, Modulated via LFO’s etc
Once done hit exit until you get back to the main screen.
I’m at work now, but I remembered reviewing this in the manual, and going through those steps, but I wasn clear how to change it. I just say the midi channels starting from 10.
Will try again.
oh wow, you have a Snow? which one…i am thinking of getting one on ebay…maybe a Virus C or Ti Snow…
i never experienced this midi problem yet but i’m glad i’m reading this post so i know what to expect and possible what to do when it happens.

Sorry, its not a midi problem. I’m sure it will all work. Its just getting them to work together takes some time and understanding which I haven’t done yet. Still experimenting with my Nord Drum. Once I get to sequence that down, will move on.
You should definitely get the virus. I have the powercore virus which is the same as the B and C i think minus the “moog” filter and wavetables.
I think it sounds more in your face than the snow though. Easier to get patches etc done, and sounding good. But the snow has nicer effects.
I find the mono machine quality of sound is similar to the virus.
You can also look at a used DSI tetra or blofeld. They all complement the sound on the mono.
The most interesting thing on the mono i think is the wavetables and the filter. I don’t know y but i really love the sound of the filter. And adding some wavetables would kinda make the mono like a hardware massive, kinda sorta.
Looking for some great additional wave cycles to put in the mono
