4 mother 32’s + dfam + tr8 LIVE!
Long before I recorded tracks essentially playing the mixing board.
About 15 m32 patterns I made up and let it rip.
You can hear the occasional pattern come in a 16th note late and a few that run a few measures too long for my taste but what the heck…

I’ve probably shared this somewhere else on the site in the past. Anyhow felt moved to share it again.
Mainly because I just found out the lead singer of my band from back in the day died a few days back. He was astonishing (and sometimes appalling) but always front and centre of what was going on, wherever it was going on as any frontman needs to be. He generated too many stories, most of them ridiculous, but all of them memorable. Life clearly wasn’t always easy for him, not least because unlike most of the rest of us, he never quite settled down or stopped the partying that most of us couldnt sustain beyond our early-mid twenties. And in recent years he fell out of touch and out of reach. His life was way too short, but at times he also lived life more than everyone else around him.
This was probably Ollie at his best back in the early 1990s. Sober enough to get his ideas out in time and in tune. Backed by a band that had finally got its shit together. If we’d managed to sustain that rather than combusting in an explosion of personal dysfunction and poor life choices, it would have been on our third EP. Ah well. Doesn’t it mostly turn out that way?
I’m sorry to hear that Matt. Thanks for sharing your memories of him.
I reminded myself that although I love hardware, and what’s on show at Superbooth is very tempting, my iPad can do some interesting (to me) stuff too. My wallet stays unopened for now…
