Setup Rytm, Four and Digitakt with Midi keyboard

Hi fellow Elektronauts,

I’m the happy owner of the Analog Rytm, Analog Four and the Digitakt.
I’m wondering how to connect the three devices with a midi clock sync AND still be able to use the midi in on the Analog Four for an external Midikeyboard.

It would be even more perfect when I can use the midi keyboard with different machines and still hold the midi sync.
Any advice? See attached image for the desired setup.

Thanks!

I’ve got a MIDI Solutions Merger V2 for merging midi clock and midi note and cc data. No external power is needed. So in your case you connect the Digitakt and your keyboard to the merge-box and a single output to the Analog Four.

If you want to send midi notes to all three boxes a MIDI Solutions Quadra thru can make you send midi to multiple targets. In most cases it’s best to setup each device to filter out specific channels and switch midi channel from the keyboard. Like you have your Analog Four listening to midi channels 1-4 and a Korg M1 only listening to channel 5 and so on.

The auto channels on the Elektron boxes is very handy in these cases as well since you can target the selected track on each device.
