Setting up CV on A4/AK Elektron Video Question

Hi Folks,
I’ve watched https://youtu.be/RNhktrHHyew?list=FLbV1Ma-_NNs-6TftW7nF0vQ a few times to emulate it w/ my setup. Up to 40 seconds, it’s straight forward. @41 seconds, Track 1 of the AK gets assigned to the Left Audio Input (from the Intellijel module). Don’t you lose the internal AK track if it’s set this way? What is the advantage of doing this instead of using the dedicated CV track on the AK? -I’m a bit confuzzed.
Thanks!
Rich

You’re partly correct. You’d still have Oscillator 2 to generate internal sound, on top of what’s being piped in.

It’s not strictly necessary to do this, however. You can use the FX track to set the level of the left/right inputs. In fact you can even send the panning – there’s nothing saying the two inputs have to be left and right, they can both be center or even reversed. This way you can have five or even six voices.

Running it through one of the synth tracks does give you access to that track’s filters and envelope if you want them, however. Maybe even amplitude modulation and sync, though I haven’t tried it.

Thank you @dumbledog! That’s exactly what I was looking for. Great info. :+1:

You can turn the A4 into a pretty neat phaser this way too. Set up a kit with the inputs into track 1, then set tracks 2-4 to Neighbor. Set bandpass filter on each and modulate with LFOs and mute tracks 1-3.
