OK I already have one and adore it. and it’s absolutely beautiful!

THAT SAID… sometimes I run into wood patterns on one that are just incredible. like this one.

I do feel the loss, but especially after Moog’s changes it’ll be interesting to see what they being after the TEO-5. I would love to see Sequential meet the opportunities of the time.

I wonder what really happens at a company when you lose a leader like that, we don’t have a good track record of respecting our elders here and everyone is always bashing whatever they deem legacy… I hope they can move forward without losing what made them special in the first place.

It will be interesting to see whether they stick with analog or will revisit Dave’s digital innovations as well. The analog market seems quite crowded these days, yet that’s what their reputation is based on.

Well I could understand if they were bad at it if they didn’t focus on it but considering they are just about the best (subjective) then I hope they don’t leave the analog behind

IIRC, Dave and Sequential were brought in to help guide creative engineering after Novation lost Chris Huggett, so I imagine there is still some respect for their collective legacies.

Don’t see any reasons at all why Novation/Sequential would do so. I just don’t know what was last in either’s books or who would be next up in experience and “vision” (i’m not usually fond of the word, but artist-engineers get a pass since their work requires more than the bent to make ungodly amounts of money.)

I’ll definitely be watching, I don’t know whom’s vision will take the helm either but I will always prefer something good over something new… refinement over innovation.

have they released anything since the acquisition/Dave passed? he passed right as the OB-X8 was coming out, and the Take 5 came out later that year. I assume he worked on that, and the TEO was based upon that. there’s been nothing since then, I don’t think.

The Trigon was always promoted as his last creation. Don’t think we’ve seen something Sequential that Dave didn’t know about.

Perhaps you would like to continue discussing in following thread, given that this one is about the Prophet 5:

Was idly searching for info about the Prophet 5 settings supposedly used for the synth solos on I.G.Y. by Donald Fagen, but found this instead.

I like the musical variations in loudness, filter cutoff, etc. One of the comments says a Moog MP-201 was plugged into the CV input to help out with expression
