So Iām thinkingā¦
- 8 voices, one model only (unlike p5/10, rev2 8/16)
- 2 sets of filters; OB-X discrete 2 pole LP, and Curtis 2/4 pole LP switchable
- stereo output. OB-X/Xa/8 were all stereo
The things Iām not so sure ofā¦
- OB-8 page 2 capabilities. Would be pretty easy to implement, but how āpureā do they want to go with the OB-X design?
- Split/layer/etc (which the OB-Xa had)
- discrete OB-X oscillators? Curtis oscillators from OB-Xa? Or, both. Itās possible, but would make it the most expensive sequential synth probably putting it at $5000. Most likely only the discrete oscillators.

One of the YT comments says āThank you for confirming Sequential is making a sequelā. Maybe he really did hear something from J3PO who in turn heard something from Dave or Tom. Or maybe he was just high as a kite on his drug of choice.

I sure hope so. Dave said something new is coming in July. It would be rad if it was the new OB. And it would be great if J3PO was using the new one in this video, saying it was a vintage unit.

Are you saying it would be great if J3P0 lied there? What would be the benefit, and for whom?
I just think it would be a great move if they released the new OB-Xa soon, and J3P0 came out and said that this video was actually recorded on the new unit, and it is so faithful to the original, that no one could tell it apart from a vintage unit. Seems like a fun thing to do. YouTubers often have videos ready to go when products are announced, so why not get some involved in a secret teaser to get people thinking about it.

Almost. On a new Oberheim, kinda. 
The teaser for the Geforce OB-E plugin was a long video with footage of tweaking sounds on an actual Eight Voice but there was a plot twist at the end: all the sounds had been made with the VST.
Thanks for reminding me of the possible July Sequential release. Will keep my eye on that for sure!
