Sequencing the AK/A4 with external sequencer

I am using a midiboxV4 to sequence my Analog keys and I am having trouble programming accents and slides. I have gone into the various portamento, legato and slide time settings but can not get the AK to respond to gate length or slide prompts by my sequencer. I understand that not many reading this may have a midibox, but I am sure the same principle applies to sequencing with Ableton.

Also not getting accents.

I have toyed with every combination of the legato and portamento settings. Overlapping notes on the sequencer. Gate Time and envelope settings. Still nothing.

Can anyone out there confirm if you can get slides with an external sequencer on the A4 ?
