can you sequence an external synth with AK?
example: Volca keys - sending it’s audio into the audio input of AK, can you sequence this synth using the CV track and the AK internal sequencer? And then run the output of the Volca keys into AK to utilize the AK fx?
thanks in advance.
you can sequence external gear via CV but not midi. You can do exactly as you wish provided the korg accept 1v/oct (or hz/oct) etc. I thought the korgs only had clock cv, but maybe I’m wrong…
the analog four and keys can sequence external gear via CV only. you can sync external gear using MIDI, but that is it as far as the MIDI control goes. for the CV control, you can send pitch information (either V/octave or Hz/V), triggers, gates, and LIN values, all depending on what you are trying to accomplish with the external gear. see the manual describing the CV outputs.
with your example, the volca keys supports two ways of external control. the first is MIDI in, which supports both pitch information and syncing. the other way is via it’s sync inputs and outputs, but these (as their name suggests) is only for syncing clocks and not for accepting or sending pitch information via CV. so with the analog four or keys, you would only be able to sync the clock on the keys to the analog four or keys and not send pitch or sequence information.

Guys i need some help here.
I m trying to sync via CV the Volca Beats to A4
BUT…
-
When i press twice “stop” in the A4 and hit “play” again, Volca doesnt start from the beginning of the sequence. It resumes by playing from the step that was left before.
-
They are not perfectly synced…either A4 or Volca is slightly faster or slower.

Irrelevant but volca sounds huge inside A4
