Sequencing external MIDI drum machine

Hi all, first time posting here,

I am trying to sequence a drum machine (MFB Tanzbar) with the OT.

The Tanzbar accepts MIDI notes incoming in channel 3, I’d like to sequence all the notes on the same MIDI track which means I’d send multiple notes/trigger, as sometimes a HH will play at the same time as a BD for example.

What is the best way I can do that?

Welcome @CIV.
I’d rather use several midi tracks on channel 3, for independant mutes and simplicity.

With one track, you are limited to 4 notes per step, which is ok, but additional notes are relative to the NOTE parameter. (+/- semitones).

Maybe a sheet would help, after indentifying all the notes you need to sequence…the number of semitones has to be easy to count.

Thanks!

Alright, I expected this answer.

Then I’ll setup on several midi channel as advised. Thanks a lot!

Yeah I guess it’d be a real hassle to try and sequence everything on one track.

Since i am interested in this topic, but on DT2, I’ll just hijack topic since for OT answer is found.
Is there a way to do same?
Question is, is it possible to put more then one note on a single trig?

Yes, exactly the same principle as Octatrack.
A reference note, additional ones relative in semitones.
4 notes per step.
