Sequencer not "playing" 😧

So I woke up to start my day and I go to hit play and nothing. So I opened up a different AK project. Still nothing. I restarted Logic, enabled Song Position in Overbridge. Hitting start in Logic, it plays but the sequencer lights do not flash.

So I installed the latest OS again, nothing. Even recalibrated the machine, nothing

I use my AK as master. I switched the MIDI so that I could trigger it from the RYTM. Nothing.

All of my work is on this machine. I was finally recording the songs/tracks after working really hard all year on the ideas.

Any suggestions?

Did you try flipping back and forth between usb/overbridge mode? I’ve had to toggle this before, same thing happened and worked fine afterwards. Couldn’t explain the reasoning.

Just tried that. It’s working now. But the lights are not blinking across.

Oh my!

Update: it’s magically working now. thank you. i put it in USB mode, then powered off. i think this did the trick.

as an aside: it’s kind of unsettling to think “oh my god! all my work is on this. if this doesn’t work then i might be forced to go out and get a ‘real’ job” :cheeky:

damn man… do a sysex dump and save that shit on a disk somewhere… preferably more than one place

Glad I could help. I’m not sure if this is a known issue that Elektron is aware of or not, as a server analyst, I tend to do my own troubleshooting first.

I think it only happens if using Overbridge, and I also think it may not even be related to OB, but to the USB connection.

Flipping to USB mode than OB mode is basically like unplugging and plugging back in… Step 1 in troubleshooting for me =)… Back up your stuff either way, but this shouldn’t affect your stored data.
